FESTIVAL OF THE FOLKLORE COSTUME - JERAVNA 2009
Foundation "Bulgare" cooperated with the municipality of Kotel and regional mayoralty Jeravna to create a unique, elite festival, which can be compared only with time machine - FESTIVAL OF THE FOLKLORE COSTUME- JERAVNA 2009.
The event will take place in Jeravna reserve on 21, 22 and 23 of August. For second time thousands of people will gather from all regions of Bulgaria, to have fun, sing, play and dance as people did 100-150 years before.
We have thought up one important condition to create authentic atmosphere of the Festival - all guests and participants will be able to dress in folklore costumes (authentic, scenic, created by masters of the past or made-to-order in our days). Everyone can choose a suit under his custom and character, income and social origin.
Attending this Festival, you will get exceptional authentic experience that can't be compared with anything else.
You will taste national food - pork meat on barbecue, fresh cheese and "sudzhuk", fresh baked bread and "pita".Bulgarian beer, wine and strong drink "rakia" will be in abundance. You will enjoy fantastic sound of the Rhodope bagpipes and Macedonian "zurna", you will watch real wrestling on the grass, and you will participate in Kuker and different masquerade games. You will feel the mystic of the unique show "Nestinari".
All you have to do is to put on a folk dress and to come to Jeravna. If you have any problem finding a costume, we can make it specially for you and help you to find necessary accessories!
Important:
We would like to warn you!
1. There will be no forks and napkins.
2. The spoons will be wooden.
3. There will be no toilet paper in the bathroom.
4. There will be no tables and chairs. We will provide old-time straw-mats.
5. Phone calls will be allowed only in special areas.
You have nothing to worry about!

2. Medical assistance will be provided.
3. There will be fire prevention.
4. There will be police protection.
5. The area will be illuminated.
Recommendations!
You may bring your extra picnic accessories - knife, hand towel, bag bit, carpet, salt, cutting board.

We kindly ask you not to use modern equipment and tools such as watches, lighters, cosmetics, jewelry, combs, etc. The purpose of this is to make real authentic atmosphere in the Festival. Thank you for your understanding.
FOR SPECIAL GUESTS
The festival organizers prepared special master corners with authentic plates, service personnel, and musicians to entertain the well-to-do-men and contributors. These places are covered with straw-mats, cloths, rugs and goat's hair rugs.
There will be special wines, rakia, appetizers and barbecue for them. The special guests will be accommodated in the best houses in Zheravna and surrounding area.
If you wish to participate in this leap into the past, we expect you on 21, 22 and August 23 in Jeravna. We promise that you will have something to tell the whole year - until the next festival.
